SonyEricsson W810i - the Walkman® Phone (Review)      A member of SonyEricsson's Walkman® Phones range, the stylish black W810i is all set to redefine your mobile music experience.     Where orange colour scheme along with the Walkman® and SonyEricsson logos add style to the professional black finish, the presence of a high capacity memory card, a stereo headset and FM radio makes it a perfect music companion.    The dedicated Walkman button quickly pulls up the music menu regardless of any other application that is running on the phone. 5-way navigational pad with a Play/Pause button as well as Next/Previous Track adds to convenience. Folders for artists and customised playlists keep your music choices well organised. The  Mega Bass™ technology improves the sound experience while listening  through the external speakers or the stereo headphones.     To share the magic of mobile music with your friends around, you can also use Sony Ericsson’s mobile music docking stations MDS-70, MDS-60 or MPS-60 with portable speakers where you can plug or dock your mobile phones into the speakers and enjoy music in stereo wherever you want to party. Track changes, volume control and other operations can be managed from the mobile phone itself, making these speakers very easy to use.     The music copying software Disc2Phone™ that comes with W810i kit makes it easy to copy songs from your favourite CDs and PC. You can use Bluetooth™ to transfer files from other devices.   W810i is great imaging device as well enabling users to capture great still pictures and video.  It features an integrated high-quality, auto focus, 2-megapixel digital camera with photo light and an easy digital still camera interface. The camera takes photos at Small (160x120), Medium (640x480) and Large (1632x1224) resolutions.     Expandable memory allows you to store a wealth of music tracks, photos, video and other multimedia files on the phone.

All important PIM functions are of course there including Alarms, Calendar, Tasks, Notes, Calculator and Synchronisation with a PC using the PC Suite.In addition, the W810i is a quad-band EDGE phone that offers high-speed data downloads and internet access through a full-function internet browser and email client .   

The W810i's standard Li-Ion Battery is supposed to have eight hours of talk time and almost 15 days of standby time. We found these figure to be fairly close which is very good for a handset with such multimedia capabilities

Disadvantages:
5-way navigational pad is rather small
quality of the video is not that good

Overall it is an excellent handset. One of the best around at present.
