Samsung D600 is one of the company's best of the handsets. It is an upgraded version of Samsung's very popular D500 model. The innovations include an external memory card slot - microSD (TransFlash), a 2 megapixel camera, Stereo Bluetooth, Picsel Viewer, TV output support, image editor, new QVGA display with higher resolution and more.   Designwise its a very smart looking slider phone sure to grab the attention of your peers. The size - 96 x 46.5 x 21.5 mm and weight 103 grams is convenient and slider mechanism is very smooth. The 2 megapixel camera placed at the back along with flash and self potrait mirror can be operated even with the closed slider, just be careful not to obstruct the view with your finger. Although it is not an auto-focus camera but is capable of taking very high quality photographs. You can give different effects as Gray scale, Negative, Sepia, Emboss, Sketch, Antique, Moonlight, Fog to the pictures. Quality of video is remarkably good. Presence of two loudspeakers provide for stereo sound effect. The display screen is large enough ( 31x41 mm ) and picture quality is very good. You can choose wall-papers, font-colour etc.

Keypad is comfortable. A very pleasant looking menu with animated icons that is well organised. The main menu includes Call records, Phone Book, Applications, File Manager, Settings, Camera, Calender and Browser.

Picsel Viewer is a great plus. One can easily view Word, PDF and Excel files and if you still find it difficult to read or comprehend even at the maximum zoom, you can connect the phone to your TV using the cable provided for the purpose and the whole output is visible on the TV screen. Please note there are no editing capabilities, only viewing.

For music lovers it has your favourite MP3 Player and external memory card slot but sorry no FM radio. In the music section of the file manager, you can find Sonic Wellness music to soothe your senses with the sounds of nature like spring, rain, forest and sea etc.

Total dynamic memory of 88 MB (62 MB are available, 16 MB are used Picsel Viewer samples). Up to 1000 names with various fields can be stored in the phone book, 200 SMS , MMS, email ( common dynamic memory ), Java - 4 MB. Any type of files can be stored on the TransFlash card and you can work with them from a corresponding file manager. Each menu has a Memory card item that is active only when the card is in and is inaccessible if the card is out.
 
You can record several hours of voice memos with the dictaphone where the number of files being unlimited. All the files are kept in a separate folder in the memory. The dictaphone only works in stand-by mode so it can not record a conversation. Equalizers can be used for noisy surroundings. The recorder functions well during lectures, conferences and presentations thus substituting your tape recorder.

Other interesting features are World time which is displayed for two chosen cities. The phone is equipped with three alarm clock settings, a Calculator, a Converter that converts different units of measurements as well as currencies, Countdown timer, a stopwatch etc. There are three preinstalled games - Forgotten Warrior, Freekick, ArchAngel. All the files, such as music, images, videos and sounds are kept here togeather in the Funbox. All the downloaded files are also stored here.
