S5200 slider is a fashion statement. The phone is small ( 93 x 46.6 x 21.4
mm) but its weight ( 95g ) gives it a better grip, especially while sliding
up the screen. Body is made up of excellent scratch resistant material.
Shiny black colour adds to the beauty. Well designed sliding mechanism
is very smooth and fits in exactly. Automatic unlock and lock function
as you slide open or close the phone is very comfortable.
Camera ( 1.3 megapixel CMOS ) is revealed at the back as you slide up the screen. There is a lens, a mirror for self-portrait and a flash. You can adjust Brightness, Size (from 48x48 to 1280x960 pixels), timer, quality, white balance etc. Picture quality is average, specially indoors, outdoor shooting is better. No limitation on the length of recorded videos. Saving files is quite fast. Sending multimedia files via MMS and Bluetooth is easy. Screen size is fine. Picture quality is sharp. User Interface is 3x3 graphic icons main menu layout where selected icon shows up as animation. Sub-menus are in the form of lists. It is easy to use once you get used to the classification. BMP, JPG and GIF files can be set as wallpaper. There are four built in themes. |

It
comes with 20 pre-set polyphonic ringtones to suit different tastes. MP3,
MP4, M4A, WMA, AAC, and AAC+ file formats can all be set as ringtones.
It also has an equalizer and visual effects in the music player. Voice
quality is fine, volume is sufficient. Speakerphone can be activated while
you are talking. Speaker volume is louder than average while vibration
is weak.
Small side keys for volume control on one side and MP3 / Camera shortcuts on the other. The 2.8mm headset jack on the side and the charger/sync port is located at the bottom. The number keypad is revealed once you slide up the display. Blue backlight illuminates the characters. The keys are relatively small. Although the D-pad and soft keys are right sized. Internal memory is only 64MB and there is no external memory card slot. The phonebook can hold 1000 contacts in its internal memory, SIM contacts are shown side by side. You can assign Speed dial numbers too. Voice dial and voice command are not supported. |

All essential PIM functions like alarm clock with five alarm settings, calculator, unit converter, world time, calendar, memo pad etc. are available. Java MIDP 2.0 is compatible, but screen is comparatively small to enjoy games. Two games that came with the phone are Action in life and Halloween Fever.
