Lenovo launches ThinkCentre A62 desktop for the Indian market

Reiterates its commitment on environmental attributes, introduces first-ever ‘green’ fingerprint keyboard

 

New Delhi, India, December 4, 2008: Lenovo today announced the launch of the ThinkCentre A62 in the Indian market, a cost-effective, environmentally-responsible and manageable desktop PC that provides enterprise and SMB customers with improved total cost of ownership throughout a longer PC lifecycle. The ThinkCentre A62 is equipped with unique features that increase user productivity and simplify fleet software-image creation, deployment and maintenance. Dash 1.1, a highly touted remote management system and Express Repair, which allows the system to rapidly fix many system corruptions, are key features to emphasize.   According to Jaivinder Singh Gill, Executive Director, Relational Business, Lenovo India, “With ThinkCentre A62, Lenovo is forging one step ahead further by offering the best of breed Think® products to enterprise and SMB customers. The ThinkCentre A62 uses up to 40 percent less electricity than its ThinkCentre predecessor due to the efficiency of the new AMD 15w CPU – Athlon 2650e, which is available on select models.³ The system is GREENGUARD and EPEAT Gold certified, ENERGY STAR 4.0 rated, and as an option, has the computer industry’s only “green” fingerprint keyboard² made of 35 percent post consumer recycled material.

 

The ThinkCentre A62 desktop is equipped with:

·         Dash 1.1¹- An optional, cost effective and easy-to-use tool that allows the user to remotely manage, boot, audit and update the system.

·         Express Repair - A ThinkVantage Technologies component that can fix multiple system corruptions in less than three minutes without disturbing data or applications.

The ThinkCentre A62 range starts at a price of Rs. 18,900/- and is available on Lenovo.com and through business partners. For a complete high performance green computing solution, the A62 can be combined with ThinkVision TFT monitors that are low-power and EPEAT Gold certified.
