Expands the Walkman Phones series with the launch of the W810i, the W700i and W300i

New Delhi, May 3rd, 2006 - Sony Ericsson today announced the expansion of its flagship Walkman Phone Range in India with the launch of three stellar products - the W810i, the sleek W700i and the first clamshell Walkman phone, the W300i. To further enhance the mobile music experience for its customers, Sony Ericsson has also introduced the Music Desk Stand Speakers MDS-70, MDS-60 and the portable speakers MPS-60. These speakers are compatible with all Sony Ericsson music mobile phones that incorporate Fast port - the latest Walkman phones along with the W550i & W800i.

The latest range of Walkman phones and the Speaker systems were showcased by popular MTV Veejay Sophia Chaudhary in a glittering function at trendy city pub Capitol today. With this launch Sony Ericsson reinforces its pioneering position in digital mobile music in India.

The MDS-70, MDS-60 and MPS-60 are new additions to the portfolio of Sony Ericsson music accessories. Sony Ericsson’s mobile music docking stations will enable consumers to take music beyond their personal listening. The MDS60 and MPS60 are portable speakers that give an extra boost to the music stored in your phones. Consumers can plug or dock their mobile phones into the speakers and enjoy music in stereo wherever they are. Track changes, volume control and other operations can be managed from the music mobile phone, making these speakers extremely easy to use. Sony Ericsson’s mobile docking station and desk accessories are truly portable music accessories.

The new Sony Ericsson Walkman Mobile Range launched today seamlessly blends together entertainment and advanced mobile phone technology to offer a truly credible digital music experience, supporting industry standard MP3 and AAC music file formats. The dedicated Walkman button quickly pulls up the music menu regardless of any other application that is in use on the phone. Apart from offering high quality mobile music experience, the new range boasts of the Engaging Mega Bass™ technology that improves the sound experience when listening to music through the external speaker or the quality HPM-70 stereo headphones provided.

In addition, the W810i, the W700i and W300i, are all quad-band EDGE phones that offer high-speed data downloads and internet access. An expandable memory in all phones allows consumers to store a wealth of music tracks, photos, video and other multimedia files on the phone. The phones are Bluetooth™ wireless technology enabled.

The new range also offers the latest in mobile multimedia functionality by taking advantage of high speed data downloads, allowing users to listen to hours of music, capture and send high-resolution mega pixel images, access the Internet and stay connected through instant messaging or email. The W810i, the W700i and W300i are great imaging devices enabling users to capture great still pictures and video.  It features an integrated high-quality, auto focus camera with photo light, and easily recognisable digital still camera interface.
