New Delhi, August 24, 2007: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Korea, a leading provider of mobile phones and telecom systems, today announced its expansion of Research and Development (R&D) Centers in India, China and Poland.

- Focus on Application Customization and Software Engineering
Samsung’s existing R&D centers in India and China will increase number of engineers and enhance its facilities, while at Warsaw, Poland a new Telecom R&D organization will be established. The R&D centers will start their projects from this autumn
New R&D organizations will focus on Software Engineering of mobile phones and customization of applications for its respective markets.
Geesung Choi, President of Samsung’s Telecommunication Network Business, said: “Samsung has been committed to long-term development in emerging markets such as central Europe, India and China. With strong local R&D organizations, I expect to continuously strengthen our market position in these regions.”
