C Ryu, Director-Telecom, Samsung, “Our focus in terms of our Mobile business,
both GSM and CDMA, is to customize our products to better
meet the needs of Indian customers.” The customization of this phone
for the Indian market has been done by the Samsung India Software Operations

With SMS usage becoming widespread among Indian users, BOSS offers powerful and first in class messaging features. The LMS facility allows a user to enter 405 characters (in English) and 135 characters (in Hindi), unlike a normal SMS where a user is allowed to enter only 140 characters (for English) and 68 characters (for Hindi). ‘Quick SMS’, another unique feature, allows the user to send a predefined message to a predefined number by conveniently clicking a key four times. After researching the usage habits of Indian consumers, a unique ‘advanced shortcut’ facility was added to N380 to allow easy and quick access to functions like dialling, SMS, calculator, scheduler and alarm. Weighing only 75 g, this phone has an In-built antenna, PC synchronisation and an organizer function. To the ring tone hungry, the BOSS offers 35 pre loaded polyphonic ring tones. The ‘Airplane Mode’ in the phone allows the user to use such features as Games, Memo Pad while the calling/data facility is switched off. The N380 is being made available through the Reliance India Mobile network. |
