–Leadership and Organizational Additions Reflect Global Deployment of Next-generation Networks –

New Delhi — April 8, 2008 Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq:  QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies and data solutions, recently appointed Peggy Johnson as the Company’s executive vice president of India and the Americas. A member of Qualcomm’s executive committee, Johnson’s appointment strengthens regional representation on the Company’s executive management team and reflects the increasing globalization of the industry, the widespread adoption of 3G and the growing demand for new applications to support an increasingly wireless lifestyle.

Kanwalinder Singh, president of Qualcomm India and South Asia and senior vice president of Qualcomm, will continue to lead the Company’s business initiatives and operations in India and the South Asian countries, reporting to Johnson.  Qualcomm recently appointed Dr. Sandeep Sibal vice president and country manager of technology for Qualcomm India and South Asia, reporting to Singh.  In this role, he is responsible for driving Qualcomm’s wireless technologies and solutions in the region.

In addition, Qualcomm has increased support for its partners and its continuing global growth by appointing Jeff Jacobs to the newly created chief marketing officer position, where he will oversee global marketing, external communications and standards-related efforts for the Company.

“Peggy’s depth of experience makes her ideally suited to lead our business development efforts in key regions for Qualcomm,” said Steve Altman, president of Qualcomm.  “India and the Americas are poised for significant growth in the coming years, driven in part by the availability of low-cost handsets and increasing consumer demand for mobile services.  Under the leadership of Kanwalinder Singh, Qualcomm India has been a force behind rapid growth of CDMA.  With the recent organizational changes and appointment of Peggy, the Qualcomm India team will continue to support the continued expansion of the Company’s interests in an important region.”

Johnson previously served as president of Qualcomm Internet Services (QIS) and MediaFLO Technologies, where she was integral in leading the development of next-generation wireless technologies and solutions.  She began her career at Qualcomm in 1989 as a software engineer within Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions (QWBS).  She held several positions within QWBS, including director of business development, where she was responsible for adding network management centers for the OmniTRACS system in Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Mexico.  Johnson also served as vice president of technology, where she led the customer software group.  She joined Qualcomm Consumer Products in 1997 as vice president of business development and was appointed vice president of sales shortly thereafter.  Johnson was named senior vice president of sales for QCP in April 2000 and took on the additional responsibilities of marketing for Kyocera Wireless in a transitional role after the sale of QCP to Kyocera.  Prior to joining Qualcomm, Johnson worked as an engineer for General Electric’s Military Electronics Division.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University.
