Discover your passions with the Nokia Nseries Fusions Challenge 

 

New Delhi, August 8, 2008 – Nokia Nseries presents the Fusions Challenge, an exciting initiative that  invites consumers from across India to come together and discover their passions using mobile technology on Nseries multimedia devices.  The largest Nseries consumer event of its kind, the Nokia Nseries Fusions Challenge will be held from Aug 09 to 23 in 8 cities across India, viz., Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata , Chennai, Hyderabad & Ahmedabad.

 

The Challenge will see ten teams in each city use the unique ‘Location tagging’ feature of the new Nokia N78 to discover and create a trail of things related to one’s passions in their city. These ten teams have been shortlisted in each city through a month long online selection process from July 01-27, 2008.  Nokia Nseries had invited tech enthusiasts across the country to sign up on Nokia Nseries Fusions Challenge website (www.nokia.co.in/fusion) to participate in the Challenge. Users were required to register themselves on the website by giving detailed description of the team’s name along with a picture and play an online game. 300000 people visited the site, 78000 played the online game and the finalists were chosen on the basis on their scores and the number of fans they garnered online.

 

Sharing his perspective on the initiative, Mr. Vineet Taneja, Country Head-GTM, Nokia India said, “The Nokia Nseries Fusions Challenge is yet another unique initiative from Nokia Nseries to connect individuals and communities around shared interests and passions. Through this campaign we are creating a platform. The Nokia Nseries Fusions Challenge will be a perfect platform for users to unwrap the immense potential of a converged device, discover their passions with their friends and then further share them instantaneously with the rest of the world,” he added.

 

Nokia Nseries  Fusions Challenge: The Mechanics

 

The Challenge will require these passionate youngsters and technology lovers to discover the most interesting places in their city related to various passions, click pictures on the route and create an interesting trail using them. The ten teams, comprising 5 members each, will need to harness the ‘Location tagging’ feature of the new Nokia N78 to discover various experiences in their city. Each team will be given a list of 8 clues covering various passions like food, music, art and adventure. The team has to find a place that fits the definition of the task and take a picture. The trail will be formed in a relay fashion – each member will cover one item, click a picture and then pass the N78 device to the next member.

 

All the teams will be required to complete their trails within 4 hours and upload them along with the pictures to a website using the Nokia sportstracker application. The team with the best trail, selected on various parameters such as place of interest, picture quality, will be adjudged as the winner in that city by the multi talented TV Host cum VJ– Rannvijay.

 

From amongst all the city winners, the two teams with the maximum points will battle it out to become the Ultimate Fusions Challengers. The Grand Finale of this mega challenge will be held on August 23, 2008. The Grand Prize Winner, i.e., the leader of the winning team, will win a trip to Turkey and a Nokia N78 each for all the team members. The city race team leaders will win a Nokia N78 and each member of the winning team will get Nokia Bluetooth accessories as prizes.
