Now Everything ‘Joins Up’ as Nokia Nseries launches Nokia N78 in India

New Delhi, June 05, 2008 - Nokia Nseries, the premium multimedia sub-brand of Nokia, has launched Nokia N78 in India. Nokia N78 ushers in a new era in convergence by taking a leap ahead from offering multiple experiences on one device, to actually merging experiences with each other, thus creating new, unexpected, interesting results. The highlight of the N78 is the ‘Location Tagger’ application, which automatically tags location data to the picture - allowing users to save pictures by date as well as by geographical coordinates.  Additionally, the Nokia N78 enables consumers to take full advantage of a suite of Nokia services, including the Nokia Maps and integrated A-GPS.  The Nokia N78 is expected to retail for approximately Rs. 19999. With its signature sleek black surface the Nokia N78 will be available in two stylish colors: cocoa brown and lagoon blue.

The slimmest of Nseries devices with a 2.4 inch screen, the Nokia N78 packs a powerful range of technologies, including high-speed connectivity via WLAN and HSPDA 3.5G, and a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics for great image quality. The N78 comes preloaded with Nokia Maps of 8 cities across the country with points of interest across 52 categories such as bars, cafes, restaurants, hotels and more. Also included is an integrated 3-month navigation license with the device.*

 

  

The Nokia N78 is the first Nokia device to come with widgets enabled by Web Runtime technology. Combining the power of mobile with the power of the Internet, widgets, such as Weatherbug and RSS feed reader, allow consumers to get quick and easy access to their favorite web content. Today, widgets can be downloaded through Download! and MOSH, a mobile content distribution platform.

 

The Nokia N78 supports microSD cards currently available up to 8GB, internal speakers and support for standard 3.5mm headphones. Enhancing the Nokia N78 music experience, Nokia Original Accessories include the Nokia Stereo Headset WH-600 and the Nokia Bluetooth Speakers MD-7W.  With exceptional sound and a headband-style headset, the Nokia Stereo Headset WH-600 offers a comfortable, rich listening experience.  The Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Speakers MD-7W deliver big sound in a small package by featuring 3D sound, dynamic compression for optimal sound on all listening volumes, and dynamic bass control for strong bass performance.  The Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Speakers MD-7W echo the Nokia Nseries premium design and feature a click-and-go magnetic attachment system letting consumers easily carry their music with them anywhere.
