Hutchison Essar Acquires Essar Spacetel  
Mumbai, October 5, 2006: Hutchison Essar Limited, one of India’s leading cellular service provider, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Essar Spacetel Limited (‘Essar Spacetel’). Essar Spacetel has applied for licenses in Madhya Pradesh, North East, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Orissa, Assam, and Jammu & Kashmir – circles which are not serviced by Hutch right now.
