Bharti Airtel is the “Best Emerging Market Carrier” - Telecom Asia Awards 2007
New Delhi, April 24, 2007: Bharti Airtel, India’s leading telecom services provider has been awarded the “Best Emerging Market Carrier” in the Telecom Asia Awards 2007. The Awards now in its tenth year are the most prestigious honours program in the Asian telecommunications sector. Bharti Airtel was selected amongst an impressive list of 30 telecom companies from the Asia Pacific region. In the past Bharti Airtel had won the ‘Best Indian Carrier’ for two consecutive years - 2005 & 2006 respectively.

The “Telecom Asia Awards” recognizes the achievements of mobile operators in various categories. The award winners were chosen for their combined financial, market and technology strengths based on financial analysis and assessments by a 15-member judging panel. The judges were backed by a research team at IDC, and using a combination of its extensive communications research in Asia/Pacific and financial analysis of the carriers.
