BSNL
has launched a new SMS Collect service where a sender BSNL suscriber can
send message for Free and receiver receives the message and also replies
back - all at a cost of Re.1 in the same circle and Rs.2 in case of inter
circle. The service is useful in situations like earning parents paying
for messages coming from their children or elders in the family who have
limited budget or Employers may pay for receiving important messages from
employees. Companies may extend these services to customers for whom the
SMS could be free. This will also allow a BSNL subscriber to send a message
to a close BSNL subscriber even at zero balance situation.
BSNL
has also inroduced 'CallNow' cards where international calls can be made
at as low as Rs.1.75 per minute to Rs.4 per minute. These cards are available
in denominations of Rs.100, 300, 500, 1000 and 2000.

in India reaches 20.43 Cr out of which 15.33 Cr are GSM subscribers and
5.10 Cr are subscribers of CDMA services. Airtel has the largest market
share of 23.92% followed by Reliance (17.44%), Vodaphone (16.45%) and BSNL
(14.83%). Both GSM and CDMA services have almost equal growth rate of 3.7%
and 3.5% respectively.
